Year 11 Science - This IS Rocket Science!
Course selection will be active from the 14th August 2020.
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: S. Scourfield

This course aims to teach fundamental concepts in physics and chemistry. The context of rockets will be used to learn about motion and forces, atomic structure and chemical reactions. We will investigate what makes rockets fly, how to design an effective rocket, how to plan and conduct an investigation, and what can be done to make a reaction more potent.
As well as learning some important science principles, we will be expanding our creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills. We aim to do a lot of hands-on activities, and have fun while we are learning.
This course would be great foundation for Year 12 General Science. It is also a pathway into Year 12 Chemistry and Physics, but also suits students who may not want to continue with science in Year 12.
