# Year 11 Mathematics with Geometry and Measurement

#### Course Description

This course has a focus on mathematics with Geometry and Measurement. Geometry is the study of space and shape.  Measurement is used everyday from the kitchen to the builders yard. Students will solve problems in real life contexts using fractions, percentages, decimals, ratios and exchange rates. They will calculate perimeters, areas and volumes to solve measurement problems. They will use a range of geometric representations to solve a problem.

In this course you will need to:

Develop these skills: Explore this content: Critical thinking- Be able to illustrate your mathematical thinking visually and to demonstrate mathematical curiosity by asking mathematical questions. Uses metric units to find perimeter, area and volume to solve measurement problems in context. Use and analyse information. Describe and create geometrical representations. Solve problems. Create and describe transformations. Use number skills to solve problems.

This course cannot be taken with 11MATM- Mathematical Mindsets.
