Teacher in Charge: G. Williams
Students select integrated core on the enrolment form if they are new to Whangarei Girls' High School or on School Point if they are a current student.
Students will do most of their learning in the context of real life projects, with a focus on developing the 21st century skills of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and digital literacy. A key focus is on implementing their ideas back into the community.
English, Health, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education are all included in class and project work.
Students stay in the SWITCH classroom spaces for the integrated core learning and go to option classes for options.
Students will have specialist teachers who help them to work collaboratively and to challenge themselves to develop and demonstrate a growth mindset. Each student has a learning coach who helps them with time management and provides timely feedback and feed-forward about their learning journey.
