Times change and culture shifts as people make changes to their expectations, behaviours and values.
This course will explore how and why culture adapts, changes and shifts and how this has an impact on people.
Real life contexts, current events, different perspectives and values and how people participate will be explored.
Sometimes these shifts take only a few months, or years or decades – just think about what socially acceptable behaviour of men and women meant twenty years ago compared to today.
Culture is shaped by people, but also shapes people.
Culture is a reflection of human reaction to tensions and developments in the world.
Contexts can be co-constructed by staff and students, so are open to students interests and flexible for current events/ issues.
