Year 12 General Science

12SCIG
Course Description

Teacher in Charge: S. Scourfield

Are you keen to get out in the 'real world' and get stuck in? Want to join the Defence Forces as an engineer or technician? Want to enter an apprenticeship? Want to keep your options open by having a little bit of Science?

This is an exciting course that explores the Whangarei area and discovers Science in our own backyard.

Learn about a combination of Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Earth Science in ways that are relevant to you! Enrich your own knowledge about how our town relies on Science by getting out there and seeing it for yourself

Get NCEA credits throughout the year - 4 standards are internally assessed (one of these is optional) and 1 standard is externally assessed.

This course is designed to provide a general overview of selected concepts - it is not a course that leads to entry into a NCEA Level 3 Science subject.
