Students will produce a range of finished art-works based around their whanau/whakapapa through research into their family history and personal identity.
Students will learn a range of drawing techniques, use stencil making techniques to simplify subject matter, use a range of media to apply pattern, and use research about Kowhaiwhai and Tukutuku patterns to inform their own work. Students will use contemporary Maori artists as inspiration for composition and meaning. They will combine traditional knowledge with contemporary techniques and processes.

Contributions and EquipmentAll students need: pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, glue stick, highlighters, coloured pencils, scissors for all classes.
