Content:
The focus of this course is on innovative design, created through the complex technological process. Students who take this course are expected to be independent learners who have successfully completed Technology at a senior level. The students will be creating a minimum of two projects, first a skills based one, followed by a design focused unit. To achieve the required outcome for their client, students will be guided by the technological process which involves research, planning, time management, design, construction and a final evaluation which measures how well the solution meets the brief of the client.

Specific requirements for this class are:
A3 Clearfile
A4 Clearfile
Take home component – project material $60.00 to cover paper, copying, Design material, toile and trial fabric, sewing and overlocker thread, print paste, inks. (optional)
Students also have the option to purchase more specialised materials, equipment or resources for their individual projects (e.g: developing screens for printing vs hand cut, pine vs rimu) they will need to be mindful of this when working through the design process.
Recommended Prior Learning
NCEA Level 2 Textile and Fashion Technology or other Level 2 Technology subject.
