Students will develop a range of skills and confidence in applied textile design and construction. Developing and extending on existing skills, students will complete a skills based, wearable project incorporating a complex print. This will be followed by a second major project where students design an outcome to meet an identified need. Potential projects could be: pyjamas, streetwear, sportswear, etc. Ideal for students with an interest in fashion and design technology. The final products could be suitable to enter in the Bernina Fashion Awards.

Contributions and Equipment
All students need: pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, glue stick, highlighters, coloured pencils, scissors for all classes
Specific requirements for this class are:
A4 Clearfile (80 page, or 2 x 40 page)
Take home component: $20 (optional)
Students also have the option to purchase more specialised materials, equipment or resources for their individual projects. (e.g: developing screens for printing vs hand cut, pine vs rimu) they will need to be mindful of this when working through the design process.
