Course Description

In this course students will develop their planning and interpersonal skills across a range of outdoor pursuits including sea kayaking, boating, tramping, caving, environmental awareness, navigation, first aid, and rock climbing. Students will plan and complete a week long expedition that could include activities such as white water rafting, mountaineering, skiing, kayaking and caving.

Contributions and Equipment

$300.00 voluntary donation to cover the use of the mini bus, additional Instructors for Health and Safety requirements, as well as course materials. This includes payment for trips and camps but does not include food for any of the trips. A further cost for the Student led expedition trip will be confirmed closer to the time. In the past years this has been approximately $350 (which is heavily subsidised)
Note: If insufficient donations are received to make this course viable, alternative activities may be substituted or the course may need to be withdrawn

Recommended Prior Learning

Open entry. Students should have a reasonable level of fitness and will need to pass a confidence aquatic skills test at the start of the year. Students will also need to be prepared to participate in a range of water and land based activities.
