Content:
This course builds upon knowledge from previous years. At this level, the course is individualised in preparation for tertiary studies. Students are expected to work independently and manage time and resources effectively. Design thinking and visual communication skills will be assessed through two major projects – spatial and product.
Skills:
Students will develop their ability to:
• Resolve a product and spatial design in response to a brief
• Develop and prepare a body of work for presentation purposes
• Articulate design ideas with clarity, both technically and aesthetically
• Integrate and apply visual communication and design skills

Take home component - $30.00 Course fee includes A3 Visual Diary (optional)
Drawing Pencils, Drawing Pens etc - (Note: Students may have many of these items from the previous year. Equipment can be purchased as required from the Design Department) Optional
Rapid Markers (recommended, available through the Design Department) $6 each - Optional
Recommended Prior Learning
Students must have completed NCEA Level 1 and/or Level 2 Design and Visual Communication or Level 2 Art Design with a recommended 12 credits gained.
