Content:
The course focuses on the value of play and providing a safe environment for young children. Students will also gain knowledge of child development, related services, how to develop relationships and effective communication with family and whānau.
Skills:
• Communication and interaction with those involved in the care of young children
• How to develop reciprocal and responsive relationships
• Understanding and working within a safe environment
• Understanding of child development
There is a 4 day compulsory practicum as part of this course
This is NOT a university approved subject
