Year 11 Design and Visual Communication - Amazing Spaces

Course Description

Students will learn to visually communicate design ideas through 2D and 3D drawings, prototyping ideas and following the design process through to a final presentation.

Students will negotiate a design brief and use an influential designer as inspiration, design an amazing space that is innovative and appealing. They will use a multitude of media and technological devices to communicate their final designs.

If you enjoy watching 'Grand Designs' or 'Amazing Spaces', this is the course for you! Students who take this course will need to enjoy thinking creatively and practically.

Contributions and Equipment

All students need: pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, glue stick, highlighters, coloured pencils, scissors for all classes

Specific requirements for this class are:
Take home component: $40 - (optional)
Visual Diary - optional (This only needs to be purchased once - Students taking multiple art and/or technology subjects may re use this over the course of the year)
Students also have the option to purchase more specialised materials, equipment or resources for their individual projects (e.g: developing screens for printing vs hand cut, pine vs rimu) they will need to be mindful of this when working through the design process.
