Course Description

This course will broadly focus on the Ancient mythologies of Greece, Rome, Egypt, Scandinavia and Māori cultures. You will be analysing creation myths, religious beliefs, and ideas around death and the afterlife. The assessment for this topic will be two internals, one on the idea of life after death and the other on the big questions around religion and the meaning of life.
You will then be analysing Ancient Greek Vases. This learning will be assessed both internally and externally by looking at the endurance of myth over time and the significance of the vases as history.
You will learn by group work, research, teacher directed learning and individual study.
