Course Description

What will I learn?:
"One life influencing another" Vision, Inspiration, Empathy, Empowerment, Accountability
Leadership is not about the leader having all the ideas but them making sure all ideas are heard and the best one is acted on

The aim of this course is to raise awareness of the qualities of effective leaders and develop the leadership potential in the participants.
We will engage in conversation and discussion around examples of leadership and discover the difference between management and leadership.
Students will develop an understanding of motivation as a driver of behaviour and will build motivational strategies for better teams.
They will learn the different types of leadership required in different situations and by different teams.

The second element of the course is to learn and practice project management. The students will scope and lead a team in a project for a community purpose - school or local community.

Students may continue to study Year 12 Economics or Year 12 Enterprise but they can also transfer the skills from this course to any other area of study and to the management of events and projects.
