Working individually or in teams, students will design and develop a product to suit a New Zealand designer gift store. Students will explore sustainable options during the design process while developing a creative and innovative design solution.
Students will interact with stakeholders and suppliers to develop and refine their product(s). Students will develop a business plan and budget, although the focus of this course is on the product design and production process. This course is ideal for students who are passionate about quality products, teamwork and creative problem solving.

Contributions and Equipment
All students need: pens, pencils, ruler, eraser, glue stick, highlighters, coloured pencils, scissors for all classes
Specific requirements for this class are:
Take home component: $20 – Optional
Students also have the option to purchase more specialised materials, equipment or resources for their individual projects. (e.g: developing screens for printing vs hand cut, pine vs rimu) they will need to be mindful of this when working through the design process.
