Course Description

Content:
This course is hands-on biology with an emphasis on knowledge and skills that will be useful in a range of occupations including conservation, farming, horticulture, veterinary nursing, pharmacy assistant and laboratory science.

The course will cover the biology of animals and plants including animal dissection and biological drawings. There are also applications of biology in the food industry and medical technologies, the use of microscopes in Biology and how to analyse information presented to the public.

• Investigation skills including manipulating equipment.
• Collecting, recording and interpreting data and report writing.
• Research skills.
• Numeracy and literacy skills.
