Classical Studies
Classical Studies is all about the Ancient people, culture, beliefs and art.
If you are interested in Greek, Roman, Egyptian, Norse and Maori mythology you have come to the right place! Classics is an excellent choice for students eager to learn more about the world around them, to expand your knowledge from Percy Jackson and Hercules and to enlighten you about how relevant the Classical world is to us in humble New Zealand today.
The content of Classics is always based in mythology, predominantly Greek. You will branch off from mythology to study religion, art, architecture, history and literature. This is a literary subject and students are more likely to enjoy this course and be successful if they have strong reading and writing skills.
Classical Studies can be picked up at any year level.
If you have any questions ask Miss Wright (room 21) and Mrs Therkleson (Deans Room).
