Interested in what makes a healthy versus unhealthy relationship? Students will learn the key interpersonal skills that form the foundation of healthy relationships with others. Some of these skills include types of behaviours, effective communication, power imbalances and personal safety. This will involve learning, developing and demonstrating these skills in a range of challenging activities. Students will also learn personal, interpersonal and societal strategies to promote positive sexuality (including consent, contraception, sexual health services, positive communication and diversity).
This course relates closely to real life relationship issues that may arise and strategies for dealing with these.
This course will be a solid foundation to understanding the underlying concepts of Health Education in future years.
