Course Description
Want to do a practical PE course with a te ao Māori perspective? This course will include practical activities through a Mātauranga lens. In this course you will learn about the history of a range of Māori games and activities, apply a te whare tapa wha perspective to physical activity and learn and apply Māori cultural ideas to physical activity. Students will have the opportunity for tuākana/tēina with teaching and leading games and working with the teacher to co-construct the unit of learning. The values of kotahitanga and rangatiratanga will be weaved into the course.
