Level 2 Academy - Cafe and Bakery Trades

Course Description

In this academy, students explore the exciting careers in the hospitality sector. This course encourages students to develop food handling skills alongside the key skills required for entering a career in a cafe or bakery. Students will also complete courses in first aid and workplace health and safety. They will also get the opportunity to gain their learners license. This course will be taught as a combination of in school, workplace learning, and learning at NorthTec.

This course selection takes up two option lines, you are also required to select a 2ENG or 2ENT alongside this academy.

Plan and organise your time to balance the in store experience alongside your school responsibilities.	Food handling skills in a range of contexts.
Demonstrate professionalism within a retail environment by being an active listener and seeking clarification when required.	Butchery and/or bakery skills within a workplace context.
Take initiative when in the workplace to make the most out of the opportunity.	Barista and front of house service skills in a range of contexts.
