Course Description

Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga
Te Puāwaitanga - Poise and Composure for Te Reo Māori.
Students will have the opportunity to develop an understanding of Te Reo Māori through written and oral presentation work.
They will develop approaches to research and reporting of various topics investigated at this year level. Students will also be expected to build their self efficiency, role modelling, self and group responsibility and leadership skills within the paradigm of traditional and contemporary Māori issues.
Skills:
• Develop their ability to converse in Te Reo Māori.
• Develop their ability to critically analyse topical issues.
• Enhance their understanding of research analysis and the presentation of written and oral work.
• Develop further their self confidence in the delivery of seminar presentation and written work.
Tuakiri (identity) – Pepeha, whakapapa, tōku whānau, tōku ao, toi māori, rerenga kōrero māmā, ngā mahi a Te Rehia, kupu hou. Ngā whakairo o Rau Aroha. Te mana o te wāhine
Ngā uara o te kura (School values) – Whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, tika me te pono
Kaupapa: Te Tititi o Waitangi, Te whetū o Puanga, Te whakaputanga o ngā rangatira o Niu Tīreni.
