Year 10 Textiles and Fashion Technology

Course selection will be active from the 14th August 2020.

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: R. Pedersen

Students will develop skills and confidence in a range of applied textile design and construction techniques.

Developing and extending existing skills, students will complete a skills based, functional project incorporating a complex print. In the past this has been a drawstring bag, this is used to store future projects in, it is also useful as a laundry bag or other storage.

This is followed by the major project. This is design and development for a leisurewear garment. Past projects have included, pajamas, track pants, shorts, t-shirts and hoodies. Most recently we have been making Hoodies which feature an original applied design. Pictured are a range of recent outcomes.

This course suits students who want to create something original, take pride in their work and are willing to learn from mistakes.
