2CDT

Level 2 Creative Digital Technologies

Course Description

Students will have the opportunity to specialise in an area of digital technologies that interests them, including character design and game graphics, creating a game or visual novel, 3D modelling (game world or character), virtual reality, animation or a website. The first part of the course will focus students on generating ideas for their project, researching user considerations, and learning relevant digital skills (e.g., Adobe / Clip Studio / Blender / Ren’Py / Gamemaker / Unity). In the second part of the course, students will develop their project, using evaluative processes of testing and improvement to reach a finished outcome.  Learning and using some project management techniques will be an important part of the process.

For students who are keen on computer programming, an alternative set of standards is offered, and students will have access to an online learning platform to help support and extend their learning.
