Year 11 Science - Environmental and Marine

Course Description

Students will explore the impact of humans on our environment, looking at the challenges facing our marine and terrestrial environments. Working alongside Experience Marine Reserves (EMR) students have the opportunity to experience Marine Conservation in action by participating in marine monitoring and will investigate a local waterway to explore the quality of freshwaters and biodiversity management. This will enable students to gain a sense of connectedness to our local area/turangawaewae and the importance of kaitiakitanga.
