Level 3 Creative Digital Technologies*

Course Description

Students will have the opportunity to specialise in an area of digital technologies that interests them. The first part of the year will focus on identifying a project idea, generating design ideas, and researching user experience design. Students will then develop their project using evaluative processes of testing and improvement to reach a finished outcome.

Students wanting to focus on programming and computer science are welcomed. They will have access to an online learning platform to help support and extend their learning.

  • Digital technologies : develop confidence and advanced skills using digital tools and processes.

  • Design process : generate ideas, develop, test, evaluate, improve.

  • Planning and managing project development.

  • User experience: understanding user requirements and responding to them.

  • Computer science (if selected):  apply problem solving to code, test and debug programmes. Big data, networks.
