Students will learn to grow their own produce in the school garden (māra kai) incorporating the maramataka - environmental and lunar cycles. The course also includes learning about the honey industry and why bees are so important for our primary industries. Students will learn about conservation and pest control in the urban and wider environment. They will visit a local conservation trust at Bream Head and look at the work that volunteers do to make it a success.
