Year 11 Creative Digital Technologies

Course Description

This course emphasises creativity, problem-solving, and practical application of digital technologies. In the first half of the course, students explore how various digital outcomes are created, trying out different software and learning new skills. They will then propose their own design ideas for a project, selecting from game design, character design, coding, interactive fiction, 3D modelling, or animation. In the second half of the course, students will develop their designs, using the design process, testing ideas, and making improvements.

  • Design process: explore options, develop ideas, test and evaluate ideas and outcomes.
  • Software applications may include: Photoshop, Blender 3D, Python, Ren’Py, Animate, Procreate, Twine, Godot, Scratch, Gamemaker.

  • User experience: consideration of the users or audience and designing for them.


  • Computational thinking: apply problem solving code, test and debug programs.
